Live Action Role Play
What is a LARP?
A live-action, role-playing situation where the participants physically portray their characters. The players pursue goals within a fictional setting represented by real-world environments while interacting with each other in character. The outcome of player actions may be mediated by game rules or determined by consensus among players. Event arrangers called gamemasters decide the setting and rules to be used and facilitate play.

At Necronomicon, a LARP may take place in a single dedicated room or encompass the hotel's public areas as their field of play. The game duration can range from short regularly spaced timeslots (rounds) to a number of hours or days, depending on the type of event being held. If your idea of gaming goes beyond sitting around a table and rolling dice, you may want to give LARPing a try.

How to Join a LARP
Necronomicon has two types of LARPs this year: Show up and Play,  and the Vampire LARP.

For Showup and Play - These are all games played in a single room for a certain amount of time. Check the schedule, show up at the door to the LARP room and join the game! Super easy.

For the Vampire Game - This is an all-weekend game that requires signup in advance. The good news is because the game has multiple layers, a member can join anytime. Sign-up sheets for this game will be at a table opposite the registration desk.
